Quick Start Guide
Once you have installed Kedra Shield and enabled the theme app embed, follow these recommended steps to start protecting your store.
Step 1: Enable Content Protection
Go to Content Protection from your dashboard. These features are available on all plans, including Free.
Recommended settings to enable:
| Feature | What It Does |

| Protect images | Prevents visitors from saving or downloading your product images. |
| Protect text content | Prevents text selection on your storefront. |
| Disable right-click | Disables the right-click context menu. |
| Disable copy | Prevents copying text from your store. |
| Disable paste | Blocks paste functionality on your site. |
| Disable keyboard shortcuts | Blocks shortcuts like Ctrl+C, Ctrl+U, F12, etc. |
| Block developer tools | Prevents access to browser inspection tools. |
| Blur on tab switch | Blurs your store content when the visitor switches tabs. |
These features help protect your store content from scrapers and competitors.
Step 2: Set Up Location Blocking
Go to Location Blocker from your dashboard.
- Choose a blocking mode:
- Blacklist — Block specific countries. All other countries can access your store.
- Whitelist — Only allow specific countries. All other countries are blocked.
- Select the countries you want to block or allow.
- Save your settings.
Free plan: Up to 3 countries. Pro plan: Unlimited countries plus city-level blocking.
Tip: If you only sell to a few countries (e.g., USA and Canada), use Whitelist mode and add only those countries. This blocks all other traffic automatically.
Step 3: Enable VPN & Bot Blocking
Go to VPN & Bot Blocker from your dashboard.
VPN Blocking:
- Enable VPN Blocker to detect and block visitors using VPN or proxy connections.
- Keep “Block All VPN” unchecked unless you want to block all VPNs including corporate and iCloud Private Relay.
- Recommended: Use High-Risk VPN detection (the default).
Bot Blocking:
- Enable Bot Blocker to detect and block automated bot traffic.
- Choose a protection level:
- Regular — Standard detection thresholds (recommended for most stores).
- Strict — More aggressive detection with lower thresholds.
Free plan: Up to 10 VPN blocks and 10 bot blocks. Pro plan: Unlimited.
Step 4: Review Your Dashboard
After configuring your settings, return to the dashboard to verify:
- Green “Active” badge — Confirms the app embed is enabled on your theme.
- No warning banners — If a quota or activation banner appears, follow the instructions to resolve it.
- Dashboard cards — The dashboard shows cards for each security feature (Location Blocker, VPN & Bot Blocker, IP Blocker, ASN Blocker, Content Protection, Referrer Blocker, Block Page Customizer) with quick links to each.
Step 5: Monitor Analytics
Go to Analytics to track visitor activity.
The analytics page has three tabs:
- Analytics — Visitor traffic by country, device, and referrer.
- Blocked IPs — Visitors that were blocked and the reason why.
- Fraud Orders — Shopify orders flagged as potentially fraudulent, with risk scoring.
Free plan: Up to 300 visitor log entries. Pro plan: Unlimited.
