Browser-Specific Issues
In rare cases, checkout behavior may differ between browsers. Here’s what to check if a rule works in one browser but not another.
Common Browser Issues
Rule Works in Chrome but Not in Firefox (or Vice Versa)
This is almost always a caching issue, not a browser compatibility problem. The app runs on Shopify’s servers, not in the customer’s browser, so it behaves the same regardless of browser.
Fix:
- Clear your browser cache or open an incognito/private window.
- Try the checkout again.
- If the issue persists, make sure you’re testing with the same checkout details (same address, same products, same email) in both browsers.
App Admin Interface Errors in Specific Browsers
If the Kedra Checkout Rules admin interface (inside your Shopify admin) shows errors in a specific browser:
Fix:
- Make sure your browser is up to date.
- Clear cache and cookies for your Shopify admin domain.
- Disable browser extensions that may interfere (ad blockers, privacy extensions).
- Try in an incognito/private window.
If the issue persists in incognito mode with no extensions, please contact us with the browser name, version, and a screenshot of the error.
What’s Not a Browser Issue
- Rules not working at checkout — this is server-side, not browser-dependent. See My Rule Isn’t Working.
- Different checkout layout — Shopify’s checkout may render differently on mobile vs desktop, but the app’s rules apply the same way regardless.
- Different payment methods showing — some payment providers (like Apple Pay) only appear on supported devices/browsers. This is controlled by the payment provider, not by the app.
